About Me
I’m currently a Research Scientist at Netflix, and also a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at the University of California, San Diego. I work in the ADALab led by Professor Arun Kumar. I’m also co-advised by Hao Zhang Last year, I received my B.Sc. in Computer Science from UCSD at the age of 17, as one of the youngest-ever graduates of the university.
Broadly, my Ph.D. research focuses on building systems to support scalable and efficient deep learning. Some of my most recent projects have addressed large-scale LLM fine-tuning and efficient data pipeline construction.
I’ve won several awards for my work, including the prestigious Meta Fellowship, first-place at the ACM SIGMOD Student Research Competition, and I’m also a finalist in this year’s ongoing Hertz Fellowship selection process. The full list of my awards and publications can be found here.
In the past, I’ve worked with companies such as Netflix, Apple, & Meta to develop systems to support large-scale deep learning
I post on Twitter and LinkedIn with updates on recent work/publications. You can connect with me there or reach out to me at my email: knagrech@ucsd.edu.
